Located in the scenic mountains of Southern California, Lark Ellen Farm is nestled in the beautiful Ojai Valley. Ojai (pronounced O-hi) has for many years been a mecca for those seeking physical and spiritual health. Over the years both young and old have found their way to this lovely town. At the East end of the valley lies Lark Ellen Farm. A small farm where fresh organic eggs come from free ranging chickens. Fruit, vegetables and herbs grow in abundance in rich organic soil. It is here, where a commitment to good health prevails, that our Grain Free Granola was created.
It all began with a 30-day commitment to avoid all grains. This was a desperate attempt to heal my digestive system. I had been reading about how grains and wheat can cause inflammation, so I turned my body into an experiment to see if avoiding them would make a difference. At the end of the trial period, I felt great, my digestive system had improved, and some lifelong chronic pain was gone! I never wanted to go back to grains. I began to experiment with sprouting and dehydrating nuts and seeds, and combining them with delicious and healthy ingredients.
My new creations were popular with friends and family, who suggested I sell them at the Ojai Farmers' Market. We sold out the first day and haven't stopped since. We have grown our facility, but remain commited to our original values. We continue to sprout our nuts and seeds, and handcraft each batch. No fillers, additives, or grains of any kind are ever used. Enjoying our products will take you back to a time when food was real, and when eating nourished your body, not harmed it.

Ellen Beach Yaw was a soprano known for her extraordinary vocal range. As a child she began composing music and singing, and would give concerts to pay for her singing lessons. Ellen later studied music in Paris, earned leading roles in operas, and was in high demand as a recording artist. She was called the "California Nightingale" and "Lark Ellen," because she sang as beautifully as a song bird.
Ellen resided in West Covina, California for the last 30 years of her life, where she taught singing and held concerts for charity. She is memorialized in southern California by the Lark Ellen Elementary School in Covina, and by several streets which bear her name, including the street where the Lark Ellen Farm founder, Kelley, now lives.
Ellen remains a true inspiration, and her legacy is a reminder that we all can use our talents to help others.
